Why was Pismo Beach closed?

Fifteen the state of California closed Pismo Beach State Vehicular Recreation Area due to flooding concerns from the Arroyo Grande Creek. The closure followed an order by the California Coastal Commission that stated that the park was no longer safe when the creek is flowing as planned.
